That's just terrible. How crappy an illustrator do you have to be to not be able to depict Florida as a punching bag but instead have to tell the reader/viewer that it is a punching bag. That's like telling a joke and having to explain the punchline so the people you are telling it to can "get" it.

Uhm, the first winter would depopulate the state. Lowest I ever remember here was 28f, and that was just for a few hours.

BTW:
It's cool to joke about yourself or your state every now and then jae. Lighten up man. Hey, join the fun. http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/thumbs.gif When most of them are freezin' their collective butt's off in a month or so, they will think about down here and probably take a chance on a hurricane or ten themselves. http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Shorts on Christmas...when the winds are blowing, and the trees are uprooting all around...I think of wearing shorts at Christmas...

Nah, for that we have what's called around here: Pine Island perfume. You know: insect spray. Besides, in the winter when most everyone else is freezin their butts off, we don't have a mosquito problem. Mosquitos have there own season, which roughly equates to hurricane season. http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/eek3.gif Besides, living in Texas you should know all this. Pretty nice in Tx in the winter, too. At least the southern part of Texas. http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/thumbs.gif

Yeah, mosquitos get nasty around here at times. If I forget the outdoors perfume I come away looking like I've got chicken pox. We've also had a real mild summer this year. Its only been over 100 a couple of days. Of course, its still in the mid to high 90s all the time. Last winter we actually had snow....In San Antonio....SNOW!? I was warming up the car and getting the windows defrosted when my GF convinced me it was 'too dangerous to drive home' (I do keep summer tires on my car year-round) so I had to stay the night. Not a terrible problem.

Right. http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/thumbs.gif (http://forums.windrivers.com/misc.php?do=getsmilies#)
You probably know that I was in the AF so you know I had to have been there. But, I bet you never knew that for ten years I wanted/planned on going back to San Anton to spend the rest of my life. What a beautiful place that I'll never forget. Imagine: I moved to another beautiful place where I live now, but if I had moved there, at least I wouldn't have had to worry about hurricanes. http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/eek3.gif (http://forums.windrivers.com/misc.php?do=getsmilies#)
But, I don't know if even Texas is big enough for teh Cleete and me?
