id Software just released the promised Linux (retail) client/server patch for DOOM 3 (http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/doom/), giving Linux gamers the opportunity to play this first-person horror shooter sequel on their operating system. The release requires five *.PK4 files from the retail game, and includes an OpenGL client as well as a dedicated server. This release is compatible with the 1.1 patch for Windows released earlier this week. There's also the native Linux version of the single-player demo.
