i have a domain running on win2k servers, with windows xp sp2 workstations. all users use roaming profiles, which is working fine apart from a bizzare logoff behaviour.

windows closes network connections and then attempts to update roaming profile. This obviously fails, and is extremely irritating.
seems a blindingly stupid order to do things in to be honest.

is there any way to stop windows doing this?

I've heard of a few problems with older service packs on Windows 2000 Server and roaming profiles. SP3 upwards solved these. I presume your servers will be SP4 but it's worth asking.
