Rundll32.exe

Was wondering if there's anyway to restore rundll32.exe. Accidentally deleted it while cleaning up some spyware. I am running WinME, and I only have the mfg's (Hewlitt-Packard) system restore disk. Any ideas?

I see. One of the problems with trojans masquerading as system files is that you have to make sure you don't delete the real one. Easy solution first - check the recycle bin.

Otherwise, Start/Run "sfc". Normally this needs to have the windows cd, but hp may have configured it to work from another location.

If that doesn't work, see if you have a directory named \Windows\Options\Cabs. You will have to search through the *.cab files (they are like *.zip files) for the one containing rundll32.exe. You should then be able to extract it using the sfc restore file tool.
