Whilst it might not have made over it to your side of the pond, there was an estate car version of the original XJ6 over here. I don't know how many were made but there is one locally, a series 2 (I think) with a 1975 registration. Admittedly it's nowhere near as pretty as the saloon but....... John Outcoded December 9th, 2004, 02:07 PM I've seen a few aftermarket conversions on older jags, but never an original. That's not a Jaguar anyway, it's a Ford Mondeo in suit. thorian December 9th, 2004, 03:17 PM it looks like a taurus wagon with diffrent front clip. WebHead December 9th, 2004, 03:34 PM I'm not a big jaguar and/or station wagon fan, but I think it looks kinda cool. TripleRLtd December 9th, 2004, 04:14 PM It does look like a Taurus...on the outside. Being a Jag, I would expect the inside to be decked out though. geeksRus December 9th, 2004, 04:27 PM i've never considered the X-type to be a proper Jag. its basically a reskinned Lincoln. and to whom is this car targeted? i think the Ford guys should stay home and let the Jag guys do what they do best. Titchski December 9th, 2004, 05:21 PM I think the Ford guys should stay home and let the Jag guys do what they do best. I know a few people back home who work (ed) at Jaguar [and many more who work (ed) at Land Rover] - and they say exactly the same thing as you  FatalException0E December 9th, 2004, 06:55 PM i've never considered the X-type to be a proper Jag. its basically a reskinned Lincoln. and to whom is this car targeted? i think the Ford guys should stay home and let the Jag guys do what they do best. Actually, the X-Type is a reskinned Ford Contour. You know, the car that was cancelled for the US market because nobody bought them. Seriously, though....I think it looks sweet, but shouldn't have a Jaguar name on it. BMW and Mercedes wagons are pretty freaking sweet, so might as well I guess. Thier just using the name to sell it at high price , its still just a FixOrRepairDaily car . geeksRus December 9th, 2004, 09:51 PM i dont dispute the validity of the design...its just not a jag. techs December 10th, 2004, 04:27 AM Didn't Jag owners used to have a bumper sticker that said "The parts falling off this car were crafted in the fine English tradition of quality workmanship"? Mayet December 10th, 2004, 04:29 AM I am not even going to clicky clicky on the link I have but one thing to say ewwww yuck that is all.......................................... TechZ December 10th, 2004, 05:09 AM I saw the review on TopGear, JC drove it down a snow covered mountain and he really liked it! Its a pretty good car. scutterboy December 11th, 2004, 06:18 PM JC will be nice to ford.. they gave him one of the new GT's Jags are done for. They had a USP because they were manufactured in the UK. Now that they are US bound that uniqueness is done for. FatalException0E December 12th, 2004, 10:47 AM JC will be nice to ford.. they gave him one of the new GT's Jags are done for. Of couse, they may as well be a Lexus or something now. The Jag mystique is gone. Problem is, my GF still wants one. Geez, can't she be in to Nissans or something? windrivers.com
