I purchased a small (7") LCD monitor with an aspect ratio of 15:9. All the standard resolutions I have on my laptop are for a 4:3 aspect ratio such as 640x480, 800x600, etc. When viewed on this monitor, the video is distorted such that circles appear as ovals, squares look like rectangles, and text is "wide". I need a monitor driver that will display in a resolution such as 800x480, or 640x360. Where can I get a driver with these resolutions? My Laptop has an ATI video card, and the minitor is a Lilliput model 619GL-70NP/C
Thanks

Welcome to windrivers Louie. What is the make/model of your laptop? It is likely that the ATI video adapter does not support the resolutions you seek. If it doesn't, a monitor driver will not help you.
Open Display Properties in Control Panel, go to the Settings tab and click the Advanced button. Then go to the Adapter tab and click the List All Modes button. If the resolution you seek is not listed, you will not be able to display it. You could try an updated driver for the video adapter, but it is unlikely to help.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I was afraid that would be the situation, but was holding hope that there was an easy solution. The video adapter in the laptop is an ATI Mobility 128 AGP 2X and it does not support the resolution I need. The laptop is a generic brand probably unsupported anywhere and is about 4 years old. My intention was to use the laptop and this 7" monitor in my car. Guess I'll check into putting together a purpose built car computer and be sure I get a video adapter that supports the resolutions I need.
Thanks
Louie
