So, do you think that the Dem's should go with Dean for their new leader, or should they look to someone much more moderate?

Honestly, I think they should take Dean, re-establish their base, then branch back out. They really need to just break everything down again. Taken a super moderate, say like someone such as Bill Clinton, will only further muddy their platforms.

You go with Dean as your front runner and you should expect the Republicans to gain another senate seat and probably 2 more house seats.

Billary will be the man for 2008.

It ain't going to matter. By 2008 this country will be so tired of the Republicans that Al Sharpton could win.

By the time the next election comes up, Dubya will have already changed the consitution so that he can stay in power for all eternity.

There is a pretty good chance that the Republican party will have a falling out within itself that will lead to defections within the party. Checking the news today it looks as if the ultra conservative wing of the party is already trying to foist their way upon the president and congress.

Good, maybe there will be more than 2 political parties to choose from that the media will accept.

A "wishy-washy middle of the road party" in a democracy is the one that represents most of the people, yet you say it like it is a bad thing.

Libertarians are hardly middle of the road, Webhead. Political idealogies are judged on two basic axis: Liberal-Conservative and Authoritarian-Libertarian. You could have a Liberal Libertarian or a Conservative Libertarian, they would both believe in the supremacy of individual rights though disagree on the size of ideal government.

Seriously though,.. I think most people, in general, see the democrats as weak spinedm whiney and complicated. Then they look at the republicans and see tough and rugged, simple folk with high values and standards and a strong religious foundation. Most Americans can relate to the latter because they see it as more down to earth.

Because of this,.. I don't know if it's going to take one individual or a group of individuals,.. but somehow, someway,.. the democrats have to build a new reputation for themselves that people can relate to. Perhaps they could all start wearing cowboy hats and riding horses in television commercials? Maybe driving Chevy Silverados on construction lots?

Btw,.. that reminds me. Where did GWB get that accent from? His dad doesn't have the accent. Personally I think its fake.

And on second thought,.. I bet if Howard Dean had a fake Texas accent,.. he could've crushed GWB in that last election. Dang! I wish I would've thought about this sooner.

Oh that's right. Alliteration. I remember this from high school. For example:

Citizens for Kerry = not an alliteration
Libertarian Losers = IS an alliteration

Although I don't agree in essence with jae's political theory, his basic thought there is right on the money!
Damn wrbby, I thought you were giving this political posturing a break? Somehow, you always forget the "other guy/gal" in these debates?

Agree. Don't know if it'll happen in the next 4 years though, probably more. They were already trying to kill specters nomination to anything and I'm sure there's a few other republicans that are trying to be moderate that they have lined up too. The "jerry foulwells" will be the downfall of republican politics. That and thier continual need to spendt insane amounts of money we don't have.

I am flattered by that, unfortunately, I think everyone has their own qualities. It's up to you to figure out what yours are.

It would not surprise me if he started another war somewhere else just so he can make a "Roosevelt" argument for a third term. The Republicans have no early prospects for 2008 (Cheney, Rummy and McCain will all be in the home or in the ground by then). Meanwhile, the Dems are already starting to load the gun with names.

Ya_know a debate between Michael Badnarik and John Kerry would have been a thousand times more interesting. "W" could have been the guy holding the microphone during audience Q&A.

On a related note, when Jerry Springer retires or gets squashed by one of those fat heffers on his show, I want to start a petition to replace him with Bill Clinton. Think of how much fun that show will be. Trailer parks, sex scandals, rednecks, all real stories that actually involved the host!!!!!
