But, nor is there a reason for a general "scolding", since, many here DO try to help, and are not fire starters.
confus-ed likes to call himself a "guest mod" simply because he does perform that job. In fact, many of us, whether you realize it or not, do the same exact thing. When people see our names up on the board as "currently active", it does make a difference to many members. Even, in some cases, when it's not a moderator.
That is why new members pm us.
The truth is, joined date and post counts do matter. Just not always in a "good" sense.
NooNoo, there are many people here who care about this place and work to keep it a great place. You do know that, right?

NooNoo, from the previous two posts (and many others), you can see how much many of us do care about the boards, its sad when things sometimes get out of control, but every member needs to know that even teh Lounge has limits/rules and basic decency that goes with posting, sure break it once in a while, but if thats all you do, then youre nothing, but a waste.

congrats on 1k cookin chef, and I think NooNoo takes one/two days off when it gets too much, she deserves alot more though. Like more help all the time, other forums rely on their mods to answer tech queries, this entire forum relies on one official Mod, NooNoo, and the rest of us as well, though we mean nothing to them.

But I did reach 1000 posts a while ago. I guess some of my posts were deleted from previous thread forum modifications.

But I not concerned about that.

You are right techz, forum moderators almost never get credit for contributing to the forums in any website.

They also take alot of heat when things go wrong.

Freddy, I'm was removing posts from the Lounge only. I removed only the one tech forum answer seconds after I posted it, simply because I realized the answer was achieved as soon as I posted my response, and I didn't want to parrot a point already made.

Post count doesn't cause any problems, its people & their 'interactions' who do that ! :p

Any deleting of technical posts other than for clarity sakes is bad, thats the purpose of the site, to record technical stuff that might help in context.. & keeping a record of a members achivements with that is good & to be encouraged & deserves some recognition.

Wotpp's & PP's can vary hugely 'in quality terms' & even though there are some very informative gems wrapped up in all the pooh, as well as some interesting perspectives & a fair bit of humour, but these at a tech site should carry no 'reward' ..

So methinks as suggested previously, no post counts for non technical stuff & lets find out who answers technical stuff & who doesn't !

If you must do away with post counts bring back 'tech stars' to aid new users in knowing who's advice is worth trying ..
