I would begin with getting Spybot search and destroy and Adaware and updating them then running them first.
Spyware is a likely suspect

Along with Ferrits suggestions, I'd run a virus scan too.

Thanks for your suggestions, but I have done them already and still the problem persists. Can it be that the program itself is corrupted, and if so what is the best to do?
thanks

what sites are giving you that problem? it could be that if it always happens on the same page(s) then the page is trying to load a plugin like flashplayer or quicktime and failing at it. or it may be trying to load spyware and failing at it.
does it crap out on a basic page like google (http://www.google.com/)?
we assume you're running XP, do you have service pack 2 installed?

I would also try to see if some files are damaged by doing a chkdsk.
Got to Srart, Run and type chkdsk /r and then hit enter.
It will say the volume can"t be checked because it is in use. Do you want to preform this on the next reboot. Y/N. You hit Y and enter Then close that and reboot

I'm running xp and I've uninstalled sp2 because of this problem but to no avail.
on pages like google.com its ok,the problem is when trying to enter through a link.
With a chkdsk there were no faulty files.
thanks in advance

Well, here's how to reinstall (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378) IE on an XP system. Hopefully that clears it up.
