I'd like to remove the security center icon from the taskbar. I'm just beginning to deal with XP SP2 on new computers for my company. I don';t want any of the security center services, and I especially don't want users turning on any of the security center "features". I searched for a solution on the forum but didn't find one. If I missed it, I apologize for asking this question again, but how do I get rid of the damned icon?
TIA
Bob

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Security Center
under Resources - Change the way Security Center alerts me - uncheck all the alert settings.

even better.....
type service.msc from the run menu. find security center. stop the service and set it to manual startup instead of automatic.

If this is a domain then you can disable it via GPO. On the DC open Group Policy, browse to Computer Configuration | Admin Templates | Windows Components | Security Center. Set "Turn on Security Center" to disabled.
