Wolfman_UK October 31st, 2005, 08:23 AM Hi folks, Just bought a Panasonic CF-P1 toughbook handheld and the damn thing has turned up with German windows 2002 loaded. Can anyone find a source for the Windows mobile 2002 or 2003 ROM image in English for me to upload to this lovely peice of kit - PLEASE ! There was a link in the archive section but it is no longer valid on the panasonic sites.... HELP ! Thanks folks :) Wolfman_UK October 31st, 2005, 08:26 AM Hi, This link no longer works, did you get the ROM ? I have just bought a CF-P1 but it has German Windows mobile 2002 loaded, did you keep a copy at all ?? Ta ! 3fingersalute October 31st, 2005, 09:57 AM The site appears to be down at the moment, but have you attempted to contact Panasonic Customer Service (http://www.panasonic.com/support/contact_us.asp) ? DonJ October 31st, 2005, 10:12 AM OOPS!!! Did you buy it from Ebay? You can find downloads from Panasonic/UK here: http://www.panasonic.co.uk/customer-Support/download-centre.asp Not really much help there for your particular problem tho. Also, notice the links to Contact Panasonic via email. They might be able to help you out best. Wolfman_UK October 31st, 2005, 10:53 AM thanks folks, I have contacted panasonic and they have not responded yet... any help on this one will be really appreciated :) NooNoo October 31st, 2005, 04:47 PM tried the ftp site direct? (ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/pub/Panasonic/Drivers/) Wolfman_UK November 1st, 2005, 03:30 AM Have been to thier FTP - only usb cable drivers and wifi drivers available... still nothing from Panasonic.. :( NooNoo November 1st, 2005, 01:51 PM If you have proof of purchase, you could always ask them to resupply. Wolfman_UK November 1st, 2005, 06:50 PM I have proof of purchase - but item was via ebay - brand new but German... sigh ! Wolfman_UK November 2nd, 2005, 08:12 AM Damn, Panasonic have replied - yes they can reload the unit but its a service centre job at around £69 - as if thier profits arnt high enough ? DonJ November 2nd, 2005, 10:04 AM Bummer. But at least they replied and thanks for posting that. btw, how much did you pay for it originally? Just curious. 3fingersalute November 2nd, 2005, 12:19 PM I have proof of purchase - but item was via ebay - brand new but German... sigh ! Was it listed as German when it was sold? - If not, maybe try to convince the seller into a refund. NooNoo November 2nd, 2005, 12:51 PM Or simply phone Panasonic and ask them for an English licence? DonJ November 2nd, 2005, 04:12 PM I have merged these two threads as they are discussing the same thing. So, that is why things may seem out of sync. Wolfman_UK November 3rd, 2005, 04:20 AM It was in the "fine print" but to get one of these brand new for £100 was a bargain, complete with the Panasonic barcode reader attachment :) The only bummer is Panasonic being so "anal" and not allowing owners to reload thier own unit just to make cash for service... NooNoo November 3rd, 2005, 05:16 AM Dann musst du Deutsch lernen! 3fingersalute November 3rd, 2005, 09:16 AM I have merged these two threads as they are discussing the same thing. So, that is why things may seem out of sync. Good idea, I debated that myself earlier on. Wolfman_UK November 4th, 2005, 08:10 AM Oohhhh, ICEX the company I bought it off are official Panasonic distributors and service, my 2 year warranty is fully valid and they are now trying on my behalf to get the ROM files... keep looking folks - we might get a result yet ;) As for the Panasonic service team and thier prices.... :butt: :flame: NooNoo November 4th, 2005, 01:16 PM Yay! cross-fingers! balticdesign November 13th, 2005, 09:38 AM Hello, i am serching the latest Firmware upgrade for my CF P1 english. My current rom-version is V1.00L12K. Best regards Karsten NooNoo November 13th, 2005, 03:07 PM Welcome to Windrivers BalticDesign. You must contact either Panasonic or the company from whom you bought the unit as the previous posters have done. Wolfman_UK November 13th, 2005, 07:13 PM My CF-P1 is now back with ICEX, they will contact me on Monday with a progress report... (nice guys there !)
