Anyone had problems reinstalling the Blackberry 7100v Desktop Manager under XP get an error meesage come up regarding the DSSetupInsatll.exe. When installing the Desktop Manager off the CD. Downlaod the 3.8 version operating system off the BB uk site and still no joy
Proving a nightmare to install and rendering the BB useless as there is no Intellisync for the BB
Any BB guru's out there has a similar problem as this non techie is about to stamp on the thing.
and BB for the 7100v support in the UK is NON EXISTENT ... oh what a surprise its Vodafone

Go through and do another uninstall, then search through your registry and all your folders for anything to do with RIM or blackberry and delete all of it. Most everything should be under the RIM though. Do that, reboot, and just try to install from your disk again without worrying about updates or anything.
Oh yeah, RIM stands for Research in Motion, you might find some stuff hidden under that as well.

Cleetus is on the right track.
You will also want to hunt down the Intellisync folders on your hard drive to remove them, as well as any registry keys related to it (2-3, if I recall correctly).
Make sure that other software for handheld devices (ActiveSync for PPC or HotSync for Palm) are not running when you setup the BDM.
As a matter of fact, Palm's HotSync will prevent any BB from syncing with BDM if it is running, even if your BB is connected to a port not used by HotSync.
