i have an intel d850mv board. its integrated audio is soundmax. i was using an m-audio card that had to be removed. since then, the soundmax drivers are gone for audio playback. the midi synth is still there. after d/l'ing the install from intel, halfway through the installation process, i get this error > driver not found, cannot find setup.dll . plz help, i have tried everything i can think of, even installing chipset updates for the board.

Win98 drivers are the only drivers I've been able to find online.

ive got the win2k pro supported version of the drivers, but it still promts me > no driver found < cannot find setup.dll. the drivers im sure are good too, since i got them from intel. i just dont get it. there support center does not service this board anymore, so i guess im gona get another soundcard:(

Have you removed the onboard sound card from your hardware profile, unloaded the drivers, rebooted and just started from scratch? The drivers may just be corrupted for some MS reason... Worth a try...

well, the device doesnt show up in my device manager, so i cant remove it. as far as the harware profile, theres only 1 listed, and i think that is the basic config for all the hardware on my machine correct? so removing it would disable everything wouldnt it?
