Turn off the particular machine then remove soundcard restart PC check in BIOS for internal sound (if any disable it) let PC boot after that and remove all drivers for sound (with card not in there) now download drivers herehttp://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=262134
username for download is driver and password all and shutdown PC .Insert card start again and when ask for drivers point to files just downloaded... (iif you are on cyrix machine then download this patch....http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=262135... to go ahead after regular installation and restart)

With the soundblaster live value card. I could not get it to work in my Dell unless I enabled the onboard sound card (weird huh??). Maybe I am mistaken but doesn't windows have drivers from windows update for the live value card? They don't have all the nice control panels and such, but they still work. Also did you try re-downloading them from creative labs? On more than one occasion my download had been corrupt and the drivers would install, but certain things would not work, so I would have to re-download the drivers and then they worked for me. Sometimes it would take 2 or installs to get the friggin drivers to recognize I had a creative labs product installed (I would always get the "no creative labs products found" message). Another thing to try is moving the card to another slot on your motherboard, I had problems on one Compaq machine where it did not like to be in the slot next to my 3com network card.....They seem to be picky little bastards on occasion......Hope this helps
