Has anyone got any input on the brother mfc9600 do all printer scanner and so on so on so on. My sister bought one and tried to get it installed and had problems with installation and system recognition. The machie is an abit p!!! 450 with 256 mg ram and a viper v7700 along with a 3com winmodem. It is hooked up to a parallel port and the tech she spoke with told her something in the nature the dma port had to be reset in the bios and on and on and on! I told her to just hang ten till wed when I coul get out to her. My thought was to reinstall with the latest updated drivers and go from there. Any thoughts from anyone out there!

Your sister got a new brother? (Chuckle)
You might be better off over there, but in Australia, support for brother seems to be poor. Current drivers is usually a fair place to go, also parallel port devices may have preferences as to setting of ECP/EPP etc in BIOS setup. Try the different options offered in the bios.

Hi,
Your drivers are located here:
http://www.brother.com/E-ftp/model/mfc9600.html?Area=1
Also, do what was suggested above...go into your BIOS settings...set LPT1 to ECP or ECP + 3 or some variation thereof. Once it boots up, reload the drivers. Then check in Device Manager for conflicts, errors, etc.
Good Luck!
