hey..

i bought the soundblaster live 24 bit simply because it was very cheap and because i thought it would help me play wma 24/96 better and will take a load of the cpu (when playing hdtv wmv with wma 9.1 in 5.1 24/48 audio stream).

well, it didn't help much and i can't really see the benefits from my older card the soundblaster live!value...
oh, it has no joystick port nor treble or bass tune up as the value..

am i missing something ?

What kind of speakers do you have. If you have cheapo speakers you probably won't notice the difference. I was pleasently surprised when I upgraded my desktop from Soundblaster Live to Audigy 2. I was kind of skeptical when I bought it but I really could tell the difference and I don't think it was psychological. Just recently I took the pricey Sony earbuds I use for my laptop which only has a 16 bit audio controller (which I thought sounded pretty good) and plugged them into my destop and the difference was like night and day.
