sound problems

i have just formated my hard drive! and now i cant get any sound from me speakers! all i get is beeping ones windows is loading!

i have tried reinstaling drivers getting new drivers!
i have tried different speakers!
i have try to find any computer conflicks but they arn't any!
i've looked at volume controls and audio properities!
i tried other stuff but to go through it would take ages!

please help
