A suggestion I would make is to go to control panel, choose " System ", and look for any yellow ! exclaimation points. If so , right click on them, choose delete, and go to http://www.asus.com.tw/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=A7V8X-X and get the latest drivers. Hope this helps!

You seem to have a VIA chipset motherboard there nitro4ce - have you tried applying the 'hyperion' or '4-in-1s' from VIA which can be found here ? (http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2) (pick your o/s, then what it calls 'chipset or platform driver') or you can find a slightly earlier version of that from the link Guts3d just gave you .

These drivers correct various files in a standard windows install, so that they recognise all the various bits of circuitry contained in their chipsets - these generally need applying first before trying to add any other device specific drivers.

Hello.I downloaded the drivers from Assus site. The latest, and when setup goes on, it stops and tell me that drivers are not found. So, I searched over internet for all versions of SoundMax Integrated Audio Drivers.I tested over 5 versions of drivers, when I found one that's work.
This problem has apeared after a fresh windows xp pro sp2 install.I have the drivers in my Gmail email acount.Feel free to ask for it, if not, search over internet more than 2 h like me.
I hope that's helps.Have a nice...audition.
