I have a HP R55 Printer,scanner combo. This works well for printing, but when I go to scan three or more documents the computer locks up. I have to hit the reset button, can't ctrl, alt, del. Computer is a 500 Mhz celeron, 128 mb ram, win98se. Anyone have an answer?

Just for grins, you might check for the latest drivers here:

http://www.officejetsupport.com/ojr/drivers.htm

Also, you might check in Device Manager for conflicts, errors, etc.

I noticed sometimes, with those types of devices, remove the old driver entirely first before applying the new drivers.

Thanks for the advice. But the drivers at HP are for Windows 2000 & NT not for 95,98,ME. Client is running 98se. Tried uninstalling drivers and software, then reinstalling, no luck.

There is a link at the bottom of that webpage that says it's for Win95/08/ME...do they not work for you?
