winxp image for multiple machines

I have heard that there is an Imageof windows xp pro that allows to install it on whatever chipset you have (except for a specific amd chipset), can some one redirect me for an image lie that ? i am not talking about the winxp unattendend install.

No they can't .. least not here !!! If its not an official version of windoze, we can't talk about it .. & we most definately can't be having links that point to 'images' of any such software which might be available 'somewheres' .
Now having told you off ;) .. err why the hell are you asking ?

Windows can install itself on whatever x86 chipset you give it, sure it might be beneficial after to apply chipset patches to get a 'better' result, but those are only updates for what windows should already have at least 'an idea' about :).

Edit: .. perhaps you are asking about how to add newer drivers to your copy of xp, which is quite 'allowed' & is done exactly the same way as slipstreaming (http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sp2_slipstream.asp) , which if you read the whole thing, you'll see can be extended to include 'any old' products you like being installed at the same time too :).

i use soem images i made to install winxp + office and some patches to most of my clients.
it saves me a lot of time.
They buy the proper licenses and i can built a machine in an hour....

It does do it all 'at once' .. that's the point ! :confused:

No, It installs unattendendly the winxp and prepare folders with things you want to install.
it does not installs applications to their working folder, only prepare something like a "setup folder".
Anyway this installation is also time consuming (1/2 hour for xp install + 1/2 an hour for office and applications, while with image it takes about 10 minutes)

that in conjunction with a program like Ghost will allow you to do what your are talking about. It's done quite a bit in corporate environments....

In my experience, you can image ANY XP insallation and move it to a new motherboard by simply replacing the bus mastering driver in device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI with a standard dual channel PCI ide controller. I've only had it fail once in a few dozen tries, and the failed installation turned out to be infected with serveral viruses. you may also be thinking of the MS OEM Presintallation Kit (OPK) look it up at technet.....

Apparently, as I've never tried it, it can roll out images of the same version of Windows to PC's using different hardware.
