Please help
I recently built a new machine with A8n- SLI deluxe, 1G Corsair XMS, Saphire X700, WD 250G SATA, Ultra X-connest 400W PS. Here is the problem, a few times in the last week the machine would suddenly shut down withour warning and I thought that I may have accidentally hit the reset button although it did not resart. I would have to push the power button for it to come back on. The PS is a 20 pin but I am told that the Asus is b.c. any help would be greatly appreciated.

First try clearing your CMOS with the on board jumper, then go into the bios and load the setup defaults. run the machine and see if that helps... I cant understand what your saying about the PS, please clarify b.c. Thanks

the mobo is 24 pin and the ps is 20 pin but the board is backward compatible. I cant enter the bios because there is no video

Is everything winding up or you just get nothing when you hit the power switch?

I'd try the 24 pin if you can get one, before rma'ing the board

Mystery solved, too much arctic silver caused a short on the board. Expensive lesson learned. Thanks for your help.
