Hello,
Trying to update McAfee from version 8.0 to 9.0. Forgot to uninstall the 8.0 and installed 9.0 on top of it. After the install Mcafee doesn't want to submit the registration info...it comes up with an error message and when I debug it shows up like it cannot download several *.vbs files and "High secrity alert!"
I have changed the settings in internet options to default and made sure it accepts active x or java scripts.
I tried to add us.mcafee.com to the trusted websites and "allow" but it doesn't enter it in the list... I can add other websites like [url]www.mcafee.com to the list, no problem.
I uninstalled version 9.0 several times (lost count) and reinstalled it but no change.
When I do a check with pcpitstop.com for the active X stuff it comes up clear.
I have done a check with hijackthis, cwshredder, stinger, Spybot, housecall online all clear but when I try to do an online check with Symantec it doesn't work.
Also I am not fysical at the computer, I need to fix this remotely. The computer has all the updates for winXP pro.
Hope someone can help me because I am out of ideas and especially time.
Thanks,
