Let me start by saying hi to everyone. Since i am the new member.
My problem is this.
I have Windows XP with SP2.
My computer is :
Motherboard: ASUS A7N8X-X, nForce2-ST, socA, DDR400, +SB, +LAN
Processor: AMD Athlon 2500XP-Socca Burton currently running on 1.8 GH
Graphic: Asus Nvidia Gforce FX 5200 128MB tv out
Memory: 2x 512 Corsair DDR400 Pc3200
4 coolers including harddrive cooler
HD : Caviar 80GB 7200RPM- 2 mb cache
Whenever i start Windows it takes like 2 minutes untill my welcome screen.
I have tried various things, including writting zeros to the drive and reinstalling everything from a scrach. This issue started like a month ago. I just can not get it to start up faster. I dont have that much data on it. Give or take 15 GB. I also have two partitions on my HD. Default C one is 15 GB and othe F: is 65 GB. If anyone has this same problem let me know what to do . Thank you. Only thing that i did not do is flashing BIOS. So help me Please

If I read your post correctly, it sounds as if you have the same problem even after zero filling and reinstalling a clean version of the OS? If so, then this is not an OS problem, but most likely a hardware one. Do you have your system set at 166x11 for the speed your 2500 should run at?

Welcome ADO
OK, is this box on a network? Or does it connect directly to a cable/adsl modem?
One of the longest things to get going is receiving an automatic IP... then finding network printers, file or other devices that you may have used in the past.
Have you only got XP SP2 on there or have you loaded other software?
also check here for processes (http://majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=12)

..this is not an sp2 problem.
Sure ? .. I'd say since he said 'haven't updated the bios' he has quite a good chance, when sp2 hit the streets so did a great many bios updates .. - its the first thing I do if there is a new bios available & I'm having any sort of 'device issues' ..
