Hey all,
Could anybody suggest some certifications I should get? I just graduated with bachlor's degree in computer science and have just started looking for work.
I'm pretty sure i'll be going with an A+ certification first. Any other recommendations?

I still don't have a definite career path in mind, but PC Support Manager or Network Administrator seem to be what I want to end up as. I have a some experience with tech support having fixed a lot of friend's computers around campus(both hardware and software related) but have no real actual work experience.

As for networking, I have very very basic knowledge about it, but it's something that I'd be willing to learn.

One more thing, would it be better to get a master's degree or would certifications get me far enough?

TIA!

Welcome to wd forums andypun.

This is the catch 22 of the computer jobs market  - this is what you need to get you going.

You can to some extent 'buy your way in' by picking a certification that's saleable where you are, lots of firms do those sorts of training packages, guranteeing starter jobs (usually contract btw) jobs upon certification.

Or if you are thinking long term a Masters will certainly get you into many management roles.

What about graduate training schemes ? (where are you ?) - lots of the 'big boys' run those & they give you lots of options career wise if you can get accepted.
