the problem: when i first installed this device, i accendently used the windows installer instead of teh one provided on teh setup disk by canon. it installed several files and now it wont let me install it using the canon drivers. i uninstalled the device from device manager, but it still wont let me install it properly. can anyone help me by telling me which file(s) i can delete right off the hard drive that windows installed so i can try to get it working.
TIA,
JRCS

try booting to safe mode and remove/deleting your printer/printers. then reboot and reinstall the driver.
if this does not work update the driver throught the properties.

read teh problem. i DID uninstall the drivers, but windows didnt clean them. so everytime i go to try to REINSTALL the canon driver, windows finds the printer first, isntalls its drivers and therefore wont let me install canon's.

Just in case you haven't already done so, you might visit Canon's website for your BubbleJet (http://209.85.7.18/techsupport.php?q=download&type=all&p=bjc2100). Make sure you have the latest version for Win2000: v1.32.
Also, the following was taken from their website for FAQ's:
"Windows 2000 USB and Parallel Installation:
1. Once the BJC2100W2K.exe is downloaded to your computer, locate the file and double click to extract the driver.
2. With the computer off, connect the printer cable (parallel or USB) to the computer and power on (plug in) the printer.
3. Turn on the computer. Log on to Windows 2000 as Administrator. The Found New Hardware Wizard screen appears.
4. Choose Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended) and click Next.
5. Click Specify location check box and uncheck the other options.
6. Specify the folder containing the downloaded and extracted printer driver files. Click Next.
7. Once the driver is found click Next.
8. Click Finish to close the Found New Hardware Wizard."
Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!
