My printer suddenly flashes the no-paper light, although the paper is full. I'm using Windows XP. I tried reinstalling the driver from Windows XP, to no avail, and also tried restarting the computer and printer, to no avail. Any help would be appreciated

It sounds like the printer itself has the problems...not your Windows machine.

There may be debris or something blocking the proper operation of the paper sensor. You might try removing the paper tray completely, shine a flashlight up in there and look for anything that shouldn't be there. You might even try blowing some compressed air in there after you have removed your toner cartridge...wouldn't want to create a huge mess.

Make sure that the paper sensor moves freely or isn't bent. Of couse, it is entirely possible that the sensor itself could have gone bad. These things happen...

I worked on an Apple LaserWriter last year for somebody, and if I remember correctly, it was doing the same thing, and I went and found a manual for it online somewhere, and the blink code indicated it needed a fuser replacement (I think that's what it was, it's been a while though!)

Anyhow, check and see if you have the manual, and if you do see what that particular blink code actually indicates.
