We are having loads of trouble with the following kit;

New HP printers with Embedded Web Server (EWS), e.g. 4100tn 2200tn etc
With Netware Server 4.11

It appears that the EWS polls each attached server after so many seconds, after it has exhausted the available servers it then goes back to the home server on which the printer queue resides. This causes prints to be delayed - sometimes completely or until the printer is reset. We have upgraded the firmware/netware client/Web JetAdmin s/w but still have the problem.

Any ideas would be very helpful - We have a few printers that we cannot configure correctly with Netware.

TIA.
Ian.

In case you haven't already done so, you might check out the EWS User's Guide from HP (http://www.hp.com/cposupport/manual_set/bpl10769.pdf). This particular manual pertains to the 4100tn...it is in .PDF format so you will need Adobe Acrobat to view. The file is about 2.7MB so it will take a little while to download. It just might have something you've overlooked...it is dated 06/14/01 so it might have some new info in it.

You might also want to read up on
"HP Jetdirect Print Servers - Using the Embedded Web Server." (http://www.hp.com/cposupport/networking/support_doc/bpj05523.html)

Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!
