Cannot download drivers

Hello there all. Im new here but I did find some good stuff. I hope i am in the correct catagory for my problem. My problem I have now is that I cannot download any drivers for my Compaq laptops (n1020v and n410c) from HP website. The file opens, but nothing is being transferred. Has anyone else experience this before or know of any other place where I could download identical or similar drivers? All help would be appreciated.

the site seems to work fine for me, (US Global) are you choosing open, or save as, you should choose save as and save them to your desktop, then run them when they finish...

I have tried save as and open and have not been successful.

are other download sites working for you? i.e download.com, or can you not wdownload anything from anywhere?

Yes I can download other stuff on both of my laptops, but not HP website. On HP wbsite it starts to downlaod and shows the files moving but the file size doenst change and it just hangs there.

You didn't mention which version of Windows you're using.

If WinXP and SP2, you might want to read up on Downloads Fail and Security Warnings Appear after Installing Service Pack 2 for Windows XP (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00219697)

It specifically talks about problems with downloading from HP's website.

With service pack 2? Then you should read the fix Don posted above
