Is Simm memory compatable with EDO capability.
I have 2 16 EDO
and 2 16 SIMMS in my compact.?
However I am having alot of freeze ups than before?

General Rule is to keep all ram the Same.
But sometimes you can get away with it.

SIMM means Single Inline Memory Module. What you appear to be describing is 2 16Mb EDO SIMM's and 2 16Mb Fastpage SIMM's. Another factor is whether your system requires Parity (4x36) or Non-Parity (4x32) SIMM's. Many older Compaq models required Parity.

As addition,beware,what an old 486 motherboards couldn't work with EDO memory, only with FPM. Refer to manual.
