Just waiting on the date for the second interview now... fingers crossed. So, hows everyone doing? Platypus October 2nd, 2005, 10:30 PM Hope it turns out real well for you, mate. Myself, I've got a day off, Labour Day holiday in the state where I work. But apart from that, very busy at work with worthwhile weekly hours, very welcome after some years that have been financially lean (but personally rewarding) caring for elderly parents. Lots of "recovery" to do sorting out my own circumstances, stuff that had just been disregarded while more pressing things took precedence. TechZ October 3rd, 2005, 04:39 AM Good Luck Garak :) confus-ed October 3rd, 2005, 04:59 AM Good luck with it fella  , what sort of roles have you been applying for & what's this one likely (I have every confidence in ya ! ;)) to be about ..? NooNoo October 3rd, 2005, 05:13 AM He's applying for Comet - fingers crossed Garak! confus-ed October 3rd, 2005, 05:17 AM He's applying for Comet A sales position ? Or something more complicated in their 'inards' somehow ?, he should absolutely breeze the first one (else they want their heads testing) & I dont need to be wishing him luck ! :thumbs2: amyb October 3rd, 2005, 10:34 AM Good luck.. :thumbs2: Richard1 October 3rd, 2005, 04:49 PM Best of luck Garak. What position are you shooting for? NooNoo October 5th, 2005, 01:45 PM Garak? When's the 2nd Interview? Garak October 5th, 2005, 07:49 PM Thanks everyone. Unfortunatly the second interview won't be going ahead - I received a letter this morning stating that they had filled the position Monday PM with an internal employee and that I was more than welcome to re-apply at a later date once the new position became available. Personally I think the way that this has been dealt with sucks. But C'est la vie. As for the postiion, I'd applied for sales advisor and customer support. this time, I'm sticking to IT support - better the devil you know. That said, had a phone call about a part time Tech support role, at least its something right? NooNoo October 5th, 2005, 07:59 PM Yep, part time is better than no time! Garak October 5th, 2005, 08:08 PM Yep, part time is better than no time! Aye, we'll see how things go on Monday. Should be a walk in the park, if I act human and not like a computer :-s TechZ October 6th, 2005, 05:00 AM Sorry to hear it Garak, but it seems you already have something else lined up, so Good Luck on that  Platypus October 6th, 2005, 06:05 AM Maybe one of those ones where they were always going to fill the position internally, but had to advertise it & go through the motions. Still, hope you get something else even more suitable. Garak October 6th, 2005, 07:31 AM Just been asked if I'd like to teach :-s never really thought of myself as the teaching type. Platypus October 6th, 2005, 07:51 AM never really thought of myself as the teaching type. You never know... NooNoo October 6th, 2005, 07:56 AM It can be exhausting (like being on stage all day) depends on who you are going to teach and what you have to teach. If they don't wanna learn they won't. It can't do any harm to try. Just remember you mustn't take your lart with you! It can't do any harm to try. Just remember you mustn't take your lart with you! Teaching ECDL and CLAIT up to level 2, LART is called the 17" CRT monitor they are sitting in front of :D I might give it ago - can't really hurt can it. Teaching mainly adults, the only issue I can see being raised is "But he's a kid - he can't possibly know what to do" attitude getting me wound up. But as they say, don't try, don't know. We'll see :D windrivers.com
