I'm planning at some point in the near future to build a New system and Need some advice on the power requirements.
Here are my proposed system specs:
AMD Athlon 64 (4000-4800)
Zalman CPU Cooler
and Compatible Main-board
1-1.5 Gigs of Memory
CD/DVD Drive
Legacy Floppy Drive
3com NIC
256mb AGP Video card
Creative Labs Sound Card
(2) 40 gig HD (IDE)
possibly 1 ATA Drive (future)
Cordless Mouse & Keyboard
MS Force feedback 2 Flight Stick
19" CRT Monitor
I intend to only use and "Antec" PSU becuase I Like Quiet.
Any help would be appreciated.

Antec, Enermax, OCZ, choice of brands for such a system.
Nothing less than 450w.
When spending so much on a CPU, go for a quality board as well. Same goes for RAM. Since its a new system, you'd want Dual Channel configuration(its quite a performance increase over using the ram in Single Channel config) , i.e. two identical sticks of ram, say 512MB x2 Sticks, or 1GB x2 Sticks. Dual Channel ram is best bought as a pair, many kits come like this.
Reading your planned specs for the pc, I dont quite understand what your general use is of the system? You have a very powerful CPU, good amount of ram, but small hard disk, and not much detail about other components. SATA hard disks are pretty much the same price if not cheaper compared to older IDE drives.
Good reading to keep upto date when building a new system

Gaming is my intention
I'm currently looking to upgrade a different machine in my house and decided to pull the PSU out of my current Gaming machine "Antec True 350" and when I considered it I wanted to make sure I replaced that PSU with one for a future upgraded Gaming system...
Hence the Small HD's they are in my current Gaming machine, but I figure whenever I get to that upgrade I'll probably buy a New ATA Drive and Use 1 or both of the old disks as well...
Its all my way of preparing for the future, I hate to buy parts twice when I can get them once and spend less when I make the Jump to a newer system.

Antec Neopower 480....I bought one a couple months ago and love it. For one, you can't beat an Antec, and two it's a very nice psu. It is very quiet, has one 120mm fan and it also has the modular connection system. Just plug in the power cables you need and leave the rest in the box, keeps the case from being cluttered with extra unused power cables. Anyway, it's a very good psu at a decent price, check em out!
