hi, i have a Dynex DVD+R/RW writer 8x write speed and 40x CD-r speed

it has been reading properly and burning properly untill i tried to create a dvd movie and after that the dvd stopped working properly.

this has happened to me before, and i did get help here, and i fixed it but now the SAME problem came back.

the problem is, when im watching a dvd movie, the movie play is extremely choppy and it just wont read properly. and when i try to burn data or a movie, it cannot buffer correctly and it takes amazingly long to burn somthing. can someone please help me. thanks a lot.

btw, i have nero 6.

My best guess would be that some reading or writing isssue has made windows switch off DMA access to your drive, so open device manager, by right clicking my computer, & click the hardware tab. Then find 'ide/atapi controllers' , expand that, & then there may be a number of entries (usually 3, but sometimes two, or more rarely even one) is anything there saying its using 'PIO mode' ?
