Hi everybody !
1st of all : i'm belgian and my english isn't so sweet :)

I'll try to descrive my problem as good as possible !

I have a little server who is running under Windows 2003 Entreprise with :
- DHCP (For little networkd : 192.168.0.1 - > 192.168.0.250 Sumask : 255.255.255.0, DNS, router, ...)
- Oracle Server
- others little server (BNC for IRC, FTP, HTTP, ...)

All is working great and sharing the connection is good too !

but something i have a "beeeep" and a log in the service log !

here is the past : The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to request an operation of the kernel-mode translation module. This may indicate misconfiguration, insufficient resources, or an internal error. The data is the error code.

I find on microsoft website this prob was know under WIN2000 Server and due to as bad sub mask (255.255.255.255) and the DHCP rang ip is the same for the begin AND the end !
But my submask isn't the same and i have a "normal" rang ip for DHCP!

With this problem I lose ALL CONNECTION to and from internet (from the server or from a client !)

Only the "ping" works !

Thx a lot for help :)

Cu.

Welcome to Windrivers MD-KiKi

How is your internet connection delivered to your server?

If it through a separate router, make sure that DHCP is only served by either the router or the 2k3 server - not both. Same goes for network address translation.

I'll give you all informations about that !

Simple (bad ?) modem Thomson 530 with DHCP ;)

Routeur : 10.0.0.138

Network for the server to the modem : 10.0.0.50 (i saw some error about the DHCP in this card ....)
==> I'll try to put off the DHCP of the modem and put manual IP for the card !

Server to lan: 192.168.0.254 !

I already see the SERVICE firewall for the server can't restart (statut stay on "Starting" but never "Started" !

thanks for your reply NooNoo (And yeah this forum seems great, i'll stay on it and try to speak english as good as possible :p)

[EDIT] OMG ... My windows is totaly OUT OF DATE (no SP1 !), I'll immediatly update it, maybe that'll fix the problem ..

PS : the problem is the "crash" append only after somes days (2-3 in general) so i'll have to wait ! I'll post a feedback in few days so ...

ok remember you can only have one active DHCP server on a network

OK !!!!
Back :p

Erm all seems working with NO DHCP from the modem and with windows up to date :p

PS : The comp is a bit to slow for all app on the server ! (AVG 70% cpu usage :D) Grrr ORACLE !

OK, Oracle needs looking at 70% is way too high (if idle)

But this is about the fact you are using two networks I think.... do you have two network cards in the server?
