Ok, here's a weird one!

My scanner worked fine under Win2k. When I upgraded to WinXP it continued to work ok!

When I performed a clean install however, my scanner stopped working. It is recognized by the OS but when I try to scan, well... nothing!

The company's website says that there aren't any drivers for WinXP but it was working before.

Any ideas?

It was working because that version was an update to a previous version. Performing a clean installation some times may cause this problem and I'm afraid there's no solution except from formating, reinstalling the previous version and then updating to WinXP. Unless the manufacturer releases the proper driver for WinXP of course.

I was able to find a 2100U driver for WinXP from <a href="http://www.umax.de/eu/index.htm" target="_blank">Umax's Europe download site</a>. <a href="http://www.umax.com/support/download.html" target="_blank">Umax USA</a> doesn't have any WinXP drivers for the 2010U or the 2100U.

Anyway, no guarantees, but you might want to give it a shot. Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!
