My dvd won't open or close

I want ed to clean the lens inside my dvd rom and when I finish cleaning it I put everything back togather again but when I turned the computer back on the light blinked once and nothing else happened I tried to troubleshoot it but there was no luck. I went to my computer to check to see if the dvd rom was in my device manager and it wasn't. Can someone help me please!!!!!!!

It sounds like you may have damaged it?
Did you actually take the unit apart?

I'd vote for broken! There are laser lens cleaning discs available form Disc Washer, Alsop, etc. that will do the job without disassembling the drive. I think you should buy one while you're buying your new drive.

DvD drive declared legaly dead NOW. If you took it apart manually i give u thumbs up for putting it back toegether again but you probably damaged it
