DVD / CD Writer - won't write!!

I have been trying to write an dcopy various CD's & DVD's.

I have tried using Nero & Record Now.

Everything goes fine for about 50% then the disk ejects saying I will have to retry (using a new disk), all the disks I am using are brand new!!

Any suggestions what causing the problems??

What windows and what service pack?
What dvd writer?
What media make/model
What version of nero and record now
Are you using packet writing?

Are you attempting to copy copyprotected media? Are you aware that most shop bought dvds are 9 gb but the standard dvd-r is only 4.7gb?

What media make/model - datawrite DVD +R - 4.7gb
What version of nero and record now - Nero (v6 I think) record Now V6
Are you using packet writing? - ??

It's not copyprotected media - even if i try to drop 10 songs onto a CD it won't work

Have you been to nero to do the updates for 6?
Are your chipset drivers up to date

Also, you could try other burning software. A couple of possibilities for programs that you could get at least trial versions for free (legally) are Deepburner, CDBurnerXP, or Cheetah Burner. They can be found respectively at:
