Help!!!! I have a Dell Latitude D600 notebook. Running W2k Pro, trying to install HP 2610 Printer drivers. I have original install CD disk, tried latest drivers from HP website, but no luck. I am installing as a local printer via USB. When told to connect USB, PC does not see the printer! Software installs OK, but printer is never installed. I have removed all old drivers and it still does the same thing. Why is this so difficult to install?? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Do other USB devices work?

What do you see in Device Manager while the printer is connected?

Is this where you got the latest drivers?

Notice the link at the bottom for the software removal utility.

Most USB devices require for the drivers to be fully and successfully installed before you physically hook up the device.

NOTE: Do not connect the USB cable until instructed to do so.

If you get it working, please post your outcome here so that we might all learn from it.

Good Luck!
