I have installed a Kaser mx 4000-64 video card and every time windows 98 starts i get a error message like this:
error loading C:\windows\system\NvCpl.dll
a device attached to the system is not functioning

everything else on the comp seems to be working ok....

i had trouble finding the right driver on the cd that came with the vid card.....
there was no instalation documentation either just the cd and the card...
when i ran dxdiag it shows that the card is there and drivers ok
the comp is a pent 2 350mghtz with 192 mb ram
6 gb HD cd-rw/dvd combo drive..on windows 98......any advice? Bill

Hi Bill welcome to wd forums.

So NvCpl.dll is the bit in control panel specially for all the various extra controls for your video card (pressuming you have an nvidia 'something' video card), its like an 'add-on' extra to your drivers.

What I think I'd do is, toddle off to Nvidia's site here (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp) & get the latest driver, & then I'd probably go & look at this thread (http://forums.windrivers.com/showthread.php?t=73045) & get a copy of the 'universal uninstaller' there, & then do a bit of add/removing of drivers whilst in safe mode .. :)
