My monitor has grey lines running through it. Light ones I've check the settings they are 800 by 600 Your site has helped me before with display problems (driver) so i thought someone could help me with this problem. When i bring a page up on the the grey lines run across the page Roxy confus-ed November 19th, 2005, 04:46 AM That's very insulting. Is it ? You must lead a very sheltered life, it wasn't meant to be, note the use of " ", which generally indicates a jokey type comment. I was saying your description was unclear & a picture paints a thousand words.. try using "printscreen" & then something like paint so that you can show us what you mean (the board allows you to attach images now to any post), which will then hopefully mean we can get to a solution quicker. NooNoo November 19th, 2005, 06:15 AM Roxy, we also need: Windows version and service pack level Make and model of monitor Make and model of video card (or motherboard if it is onboard) Whether you have tried changing the monitor and getting the same result Whether the monitor behaves the same on another system. Your first post gave us little information to work with. Your second post states When i bring a page up on the the grey lines run across the page This implies that it does not do it over the entire screen? It also implies when you start a particular program such as internet explorer? You have a problem and you want it fixed, great, that's what we do... but you must also be our eyes and ears because we cannot see your computer. Despite the wealth of experience that is represented in the members here, no one has seen every computer fault on every possible configuration of computer hardware. Our questions serve to narrow down the fault to a particular area and then on to a particular software or hardware problem. If you have given this information before, then link us to the relevant thread. Thanks. leezer3 November 19th, 2005, 06:40 AM I've seen this on older LCDs. Basically, the screen can't handle something, and where this a gap in the scrollbar (Or any area with high contrasts) you get a lighter colored area running across the screen. First step would be to update your monitor and GFX drivers, but if this doesn't fix it, I'm afraid its probably a limitation of your screen. (At least I never found a way around it :D ) Cheers -Leezer- windrivers.com
