Need help

I bought a new mother board M863G; K7 CPU onboard uATX m/b ..
A friend of mine reformated My hard drive on his computer and when I put the drive in and turned on the computer it found the hard drive and the cd drive and the cd-rw and floppy but after that I get a small line in the top left hand corner of the monitor.. any help with this would be appreciated...

Did you put a windows cd in to reload windows???
Or did your friend load windows on it from his computer?
Cause if he did that then it wont work because the hardware is not the same.
If its windows XP just pop the windows cd into the cdrom or cdrw and set bios to boot from that, then install windows

My friend loaded the windows on his computer..
I tried to load my windows cd Xp pro and it goes half way through the process, and know I get an error.... c0000221 unknown hard drive error\systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll

Hi sentinal,
I think that you need to do clean install of your WinXp Pro. You can't use WinXP in hdd that installed in other computer because the OS needs to know what hardwares are in your system and install the driver for each of them while installation is in progress. Just set your BIOS to boot from your WinXP CDROM and it will run smooth :) .

What hard drive? Brand, PATA, or SATA, etc.
