Is your monitor actually set to the Hansol monitor, or to 'Default Monitor'? (In 'Display Properties').

If you're set to 'Default Monitor', it could leave you stuck at the settings you mention. Right-click on any open area of the desktop and choose 'Properties' from the pop-up menu. Click on the 'Settings' tab, then click the 'Advanced button. Click on the 'Monitor' tab, then click the 'Change' button. Choose to install from a specific location, then choose 'Super VGA 1024x768' from the selections of Standard Monitor Types. Click 'OK' through the rest of the windows.

You should be able to set higher resolution and color depth after that.
