I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 with Norton Internet Security 2004. I had to change my motherboard but I forgot to reset the BIOS Clock/Date. Now NIS says I have to renew my liveupdate subscription. Prior to this blunder my subscription expiration date was 6-24-06. I have reset the BIOS Clock/Date but that didn’t help. I tried to reinstall NIS but to no avail and now have an activation issue. Does anyone know how I can reset the subscription expiration date/activation back to their original settings? Please help.

with a bit of reg hacking and file deletion, yes. But the problem is, then after re-installing, you will have an expiration date of a year from today, which is not correct either.

You can have a look at this article (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/custserv.nsf/docid/2004021308241946?Open&src=&docid=2001081613132213&nsf=sharedtech.nsf&view=docid/2001081613132213?open&src=&docid=1999121613163206&nsf=sharedtech.nsf&view=docid/1999121613163206?open&src=&docid=20010510180538934&nsf=support%5cinter%5csharedtechintl.nsf&view=de_docid/20010510180538934?open&src=&docid=20010730134542912&nsf=support%5cinter%5cnuavmacintl.nsf&view=ab32ddcd125fad8288256b4c0071b467/3488ad587251e773c1256a99003f99d6?opendocument&prev=http%3a//search.symantec.com/custom/de&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=&src=bar_sch_nam&seg=ag), but I don't think it will really help in your situation.

I would suggest contacting Symantec (http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/subscribe/sub_contact_select_region.html) and explaining the issue so they can give you the proper method and keep you all legal-eagle like. :D

Have you contacted symantec on this? If you activated your product they should have records of that and may be able to assist you. I guess if you explain to them you just had your motherboard replaced and you forgot to verify the BIOS date/time before you let windows boot and it messed up your subscription. Best of Luck.
