I had win98se from my old dead MOBO, and planned a dual boot with XPpro.
Moving win98 wasn't too bad except that the new MOBO is
not quite supportive of win98.
I have an asus P5P800SE with Pentium D.
Most things installed ok, but the asus agp graphics card refused to install, and I had a DMA driver that would not install ( kept getting yellow).
Asus told me that win98 would be unstable with processor speeds over 2.2G and over 512mb anyway.
So their MOBO can work with 98 but not really well.
I would also have to disable some of the performance features, so it would be a pain to make all of the changes to get back to XP anyway.

So I installed XPpro on the new SATA, and will copy everything to the new drive, and reinstall the rest of the software. BTW this MOBO recognizes SATA, with no need for the floppy driver install.

I will keep the win98 disk in case I want to boot to it with a change in bios.

So for those of you who remember my last threads thats how it turned out. :thumbs2:
