Hi, I was wondering if anyone had this problem before.

Windows XP shuts down but won't power down and reboots. This has only happened since I took out cyberlink DVDrw software and installed Nero and InCD. I get lockup when I insert a rw disk, but if the disk is left in and system rebooted it's normally ok.
I have checked nt power management and took the check mark out of restart my computer "Box".

I occasionally get this error on restart as well..

If anyone has any suggestions, I would very grateful.

Kevin

Ferrit,

It's a Philips DVDR 1628P1.

Update:

I now know that it is InCD that is causing the problem. I uninstalled all of the new Nero and InCD software and the PC shut down no problem. I installed Nero and it still shutdown. It only kept restarting after I had reinstalled InCD.

How would I go about finding out why InCD is causing this?

A further update:

I have since discovered that InCD is incompatable with Windows XP and is also unnecessary apparently. So no InCD installed and no problems anymore.
I now consider this case closed.
