Recycle bin gone, no startup services running

Anyone have the same problem or know how to fix? Under start ALL PROGRAMS will not open also only desktop icons will open. I cannot run system restore. please reply

You can try a manual restore from c:/windows/system32/restore/rstrui.exe

ps: I am not a tech so I shouldn't have posted here I guess. Sorry all.

I'm having this exact problem, I have no idea whats caused it.

I've mangaed to get my "My Documents" and "Recycle Bin" icons back on my desktop, and managed to get OFFICE workinga gain after reinstalling it. My "All Programs" list still doesn't work and neither will System Restore. Manual running of System Restore Doesn't work.

If anyone knows how to restore the "All Programs" menu if it stops displaying it would be greatly appreicated.

I also sseem to ahve lost tons of programs from the "Add/Remove Programs" list, and when I bott up my computer I get a bunch of MSI Installers trying to install some SQL thing or something, I try removing the program and some fatal error occurs and it won't remove.

I've also lost my windows CD so I can't even restore windows or something if I wanted to, I've ripped my house apart looking for the CD its so agrivatng dammit. Espcially since its happened for no reason.
