Hi,

I recently had to re-install my Sony Vaio Laptop. I have installed all drivers and utils but XP can't see my sound card. From looking at specifications on the net I believe it to be a Realtek ALC260 High Definition Sound Card but I just cannot get the drivers to see my audio device!

My device manager is showing a PCI card as not installed, I assume this is my sound card. When installing the drivers from Sony's site I notice that I get a "not passed Windows logo testing". The only difference after my re-install is that I'm running Win XP Pro and not home but I wouldn't think this would make a difference?

Please help! I'm running out of ideas!

Thanks in advance.

Martin

Welcome to Windrivers mart2006

Have you specifically downloaded the sound drivers from Sony?
Not passed xp logo is no biggie... it just means that they didn't get MS approval, doesn't mean they won't work.
It may be that you need to delete the pci card that is not installed, reboot and then either when it's restarted browse to the Sony driver, or if it's an exe file, ignore the found new hardware wizard and double click the exe file and follow the instructions.
