Yes. I have been watching the weather reports for London.
No biggie. I am from the west coast of Canada, a most inclement environment.
I have been to England previously. My grandparents were from England. I know what to expect. The dampness does not dampen my enthusiasm for the country.
:)

That's one of those places I've put on my "to visit before dying" list. :)
Have fun, and enjoy a pub or 20.

Umbrella? We're in the middle of a drought, resevoir levels are at their lowest for many years. I'm not allowed to use my hosepipe and the temperature in London today was 25 degrees! You're having a giraffe!

In fact I'm sitting in the garden right now in shorts typing this, and it's 9.50pm! Enjoy your stay!

I'm there already!
Hmm, dunno about the weather, it was really hot today and I sat out in a friend's garden, it was really nice.
However, the forecast for London TODAY gives 2 out of 5 days as being dry, the rest are ...

Well, Gazzak, that's sure not the kind of weather most of us Yanks associate with London! Just remember, "drought" is relative. Here in my part of the country, we recently had nearly 1.5 million acres burned by grass fires. With 50 to 60 mph winds pushing the fires, the loss of human life, structures, and livestock was pretty awful.
Still, you have to look for that silver lining. Here in Texas, my local government may tell me I can't shoot fireworks, water my lawn, etc. but nobody tells me what I can or can't do with my hosepipe!
Oh, BTW, have a great time house! You sorry dog.

You should feel right at home, then! ;)
My first wife was from Gold Beach Oregon, where they run for cover when the sun comes out! I don't think you folks from the Pacific Northwest truly understand the concept of dry. :)

Must say the forecasters are "pants". My baldy head is red from sitting out in the sun at lunchtime. 10pm now and it's still not bad, weekend though does look a wee bit like resvoir refill weather!

I'd be very careful with remarks like that El. You might wake up to find the FBI on your doorstep.

Nah! The government already has me in wage slavery for perpetuity. No worries for them there. Besides, they just want to take my money, crush my spirit and convince me it is for the greater good!
Thank you sir, may I have another!

Back.
Jet Lagged. But OK.
London was cool both metaphorically and literally. Love that city. Not sure I'd want to live there, though. $$$$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$$$$$ My niece and her husband live in the Holland Park area. What passes as their flat would be a tight fit for a closet here.
Sorry about not visiting you Mags. But then you didn't invite me.
Tuscany was great. Stayed in Lucca for most of the time. Lovely little city. Very pleasant. Very warm and friendly people -- calm, charming, polite, considerate, laid back. Visited Firenze and Pisa and host of other little places. Great food. Great wine. Startingly beautiful women.
All in all a wonderful holiday, apart from some lengthy misadventures with BA on the way home. When I started to get upset, I calmed myself down by thinking "It could be worse. It could be Air Canada."
