The Command & Conquer series of games for me has to be rated as my all time favorite, as such I can't wait for the new C&C3 (http://www.commandandconquer.ea.com/) title coming in 2007.

Need For Speed is another series that has always been one that I wait for, and the recent "Underground 1/2/Most Wanted" was hours and hours of fun, though much was not improved on with U2/Most Wanted, but still was worth it.

The Warhammer: Dawn of War title I played a year ago, was VERY entertaining, hugely fun, and quite unexpected as I hadn't played any of the older versions.

Battlefield, another excellent title that sadly I never played further than BF1942, due to the lack of a DX9 card, but that will all change once the new PC in setup :p

I still enjoy the Warcraft series, tend to go for the Racing/RTS genre of games, though am always interested in trying out Flight Sims :D

Sports games like Fifa and the rest are ok as demo's, but never worth getting the game, I just can't find those sort of games fun to play.

Mine is NES Zelda.I can still see my son from age 5 to 8 he played
the game religiously.

I sat there with him hours on end watching him play.

So my favorite game I guess is the time I spent with my son and daughter.

Hard to pick out a favorite. I'd choose the first 2 Myst games if I were forced to make a selection. I also love all the Unreal Tournament editions because you can play for a few minutes, shoot hell out of everything in sight, and then quit if work intrudes.

Possibly the worst game I ever played was Morrowind: The Elder Scrolls. Don't care what reviewers say; the combat system is incredibly clunky and you spend most of your game time slowly navigating large and boring maps. NPCs are largely not worth interacting with. Dull, dull, dull. Gimme Diablo II anytime.

My favorite OLD games would have to be the Wing Commander series.

Heh, I have tons of games that I swear that I'll get around to opening someday soon... But for now, I am addicted to Pocket Tanks (http://www.blitwise.com/ptanks.html) and a Windows game called Spider Solitaire!

Currently:
City of Heroes/Villains. I've always been a role-playing nut and Super Hero RPG fan, since the Champions system. :)

All time:
Sid Meyer's Civilization series and his Colonization. I cut my teeth on Avalon Hill Strategic Simulation games with my dad, back in the 60's. Nothing like a world conquest strategic simulation game to separate the twitchers from the thinkers.

Oldies but Goodies:
X-Com! (1 through 3, but 2 was the best) May the corporate eunuchs who bought them out and ruined the franchise smoke a turd in hell for that one. It was like the old UFO TV shows came to life on my monitor. Joy!
Warlords! (1 through 3, Darklords Rising. 4 was a huge piece of crap.) Same sentiment to the corporate ignoramuses! Die, suit boy, die! :flame: :guns:

What is your favourite game at the moment and why?

Probably BF2. It’s a great game that really supports team play. Everything can be interacted with. If you get on a decent server with people that want to play…it can be really fun.

What is your all time favourite game?

Online it was Jumpgate. I beta tested it and played for several years. Its still around but only a shell of what it used to be. I also really dug Knights of the Old Republic or the NFS series.

What is your favourite older game?

Wingcommander 3

What is the worse game you have ever played?

Way of the Warrior on the old 3D0 system. It was a Mortal Kombat rip off with White Zombie as the soundtrack…which was the only good thing about the game.

what game do you find does not live up to it's hype?

Knights of the Old Republic 2. Not the same authors…rushed to release…incomplete missions and story line.

What is your favourite Genre of game?

Don’t have one.

Hide the sausage. :D

j/k(well, not really) - but I'd have to say at the moment, it would be Gun. I'm a shoot 'em up kind of guy, and I love westerns, so its the perfect game for me.

My favourite class of game falls into the puzzle-adventure series like Tomb raider; that's how I played most mmporgs, ie, solo adventurer.

I also liked ALL the Myst games and URU (unfortunately, the on-line version failed due to many issues).

The Adventure Company markets lots of great puzzle solver games - I play those also.

What is your favourite game at the moment and why?
I've been playing a lot of Mega Man and Metroid for some reason.

What is your all time favourite game?
Probably Tetris.

What is your favourite older game?
Any version of Mario Cart

What is the worse game you have ever played?
Tie between Platoon for NES, Deadly Towers for NES and ET for the Atari 2600.

what game do you find does not live up to it's hype?
Unreal. But maybe that's just me and my dislike for FPS games.

What is your favourite Genre of game?
Side Scrollers I guess.

What is your favourite game at the moment and why?
City of Heroes. Hands down. No contest. I haven't installed other games on my PC in the last 2 years since this one.

I used to play the Villains & Vigilantes tabletop RPG, so this was right up my alley. It is also the first videogame my wife got into as much as the kids and I did. The storyline and gameplay is satisfying enough for all ages and "family friendly" enough, yet the action can be fast-paced enough to keep the hardcaore gamers interested in he long run too.

What is your all time favourite game?
Same as meatwad on this one. Tetris keeps coming back over and over no matter how much I try to put it on the shelf. CoH is a real close contender.

What is your favourite older game?
Quake III.

What is the worse game you have ever played?
Hard to say... Sin? Buggy as all heck and the linear gameplay made me cry. The cover art by Simon Bisley was why I had bought it... :(

What game do you find does not live up to it's hype?
Daikatana was a big let down.

What is your favourite Genre of game?
Used to be FPS, now... switching gradually to MMORPGs.

Oh well my favorite game is.... PTO 2 but that's so old I can't get it to run I have to build a Win98 machine just to play it.

Well, at least this isn't some old thread where I embarrassed myself and have to relive it. I just don't do a lot of games. In the past 12 months, I bought the new Vista compatible version of Bookworm, BioShock, and The Witcher. When the price drops enough for World in Conflict, I'll buy it, too.

Right now, I'm playing through The Witcher for the second time, so I would rate it as my current favorite, even though it isn't nearly as polished a product as BioShock. I like the story line and the dry, sarcastic humor.

I think i'm in the same boat.. Are you atleast going with the "hard" difficultiy for your second run?

Initially, I was really extremely dense catching on to the mechanics of combat. Read the reviews, the tutorial, still couldn't ditch that traditional RPG "click like a machine gun" behavior. So, I played through on "easy" the first time around.

Now, I went through Diablo II at Nightmare and Hell levels, played many of the Ultima games, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, FPS games all the way back to DOS. Yeah, I was ready to go right for the "Hard" level in The Witcher. So far I'm dying about every 30 minutes. You know you're getting old when...
