I performed a restore of a file within My Documents using Acronis True Image and now find a folder there named "Drive C". Within this folder is the "Documents and Settings" folder along with all the sub folders although I cannot access them.

If I try to delete this folder, I get an "Access Denied" message. I am an administrator running Windows XP with SP2.

I have tried logging into Safe Mode but still cannot delete the folder.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this pest?

Thanks!

Download Hijack This and then run it - do a scan - then click on 'config', then 'delete a file on reboot', then specify the file path and name.

Then leave Hijack This and reboot.

Thanks CCT for the help but that did not work as Hijack This SEEMS to allow for file deletion only and this is a folder with 3 subfolders, no files, and a size of 0 bytes. I cannot rename the folder but can move it and share it.

I have yet to find a way to delete it.

I know this is a small problem but 'little" things like this bug me as I want to know why it can't be deleted.

Any more suggestions?

Thanks,

Jeff

You may want to download Guided Help File at below site and let it auto run checkdisk.

Look on majorgeeks.com for a file in security called 'unlocker' install it and it adds an unlock item to the right click context menu, use the unlocker first then delete. (the utility removes any and all locking handles, so be sure there are no system files open or in use before using the unlocker).
