Dual Core Problems

hey All,

My problem is that some of my games run terrible on my dual core unless i go into the Task Manager and change the Affinity of the program to only use CPU0 (1 core).. what it is.. is that the games are running sooooo quick with both cores running it and my question is how can i set a game to only use 1 core ? as i keep having to boot the game and then press the Start key on keyboard and go into the Task Manager that way and setting the Affinity. Every time i load a game ! is there an easier way ?

Do you have the latest processor driver from AMD and/or any other utilites. I see on AMD's Webpage (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html) that they have a Dual Core Optimizer that may be of some assistance. This was just released in June of 2006.

Hi,
You can set the process to permanently run on a seperate process
there is a tool in the resource kit called imagecfg.exe - it sets the process to be run on a specific affinity
I have done it in the wild old NT 4.0 days ;)
